AISSEE 2027 Dates — and the Month-by-Month Plan That Fits Them

The exam is in January 2027. Work backwards from it and the whole year organises itself. Here is the calendar we hand to every parent who walks into our office in July.

Every family that starts preparing for the AISSEE 2027 exam date asks the same question first: how much time do we actually have? As of today, the answer is roughly six months to the written paper — and that is comfortable, if the months are used in the right order.

The exam is expected in January 2027. Everything else — notification, form, admit card, revision, mock tests — hangs off that single fixed point. This guide gives you the official calendar first, then the preparation calendar that fits inside it.

Key takeaway

The notification is not the starting gun. Families who begin preparing when the form opens in October have 90 days. Families who begin in July have 180. In our experience, that gap decides more selections than raw talent does.

Working Backwards: The Preparation Timeline

Here is the calendar we actually run our batches on. It assumes a child starting now, in the second half of 2026.

July – August 2026: Build the base

The goal in these two months is coverage, not speed. Finish a first honest pass of the syllabus and find out where the child is weak.

  • Complete the Class V (or Class VIII) foundation topics that the AISSEE syllabus assumes
  • Start Vedic Maths techniques now — they need months to become reflexive, not weeks
  • Sit one full-length paper at the end of August, untimed, purely as a diagnostic
  • Fix the study slot. The same 90 minutes every day beats four hours on Sunday.

September – October 2026: Syllabus completion and the form

Two things run in parallel: finishing the syllabus, and the application.

  • Complete 100% of the syllabus by end-October. Everything after this is revision
  • Read the information bulletin the day it releases; assemble the document set
  • Fill and submit the application form in the first ten days of the window
  • Begin timed sectional practice — Maths first, since it carries 150 of 300 marks in Class VI and 200 of 400 in Class IX

November 2026: Previous year papers

November belongs to past papers. Not new topics, not new books.

  • Work through previous year question papers year by year. Our students go through a 21-year breakdown across 80 focused classes
  • After every paper, build an error log: the question, the reason it was wrong, the correction
  • Revise the Intelligence section daily in short bursts — it rewards pattern familiarity above all

December 2026: Full mock tests under exam conditions

  • One full mock test every two or three days, at the same time of day as the real exam
  • Same duration, same OMR sheet, no phone in the room
  • Spend twice as long reviewing each mock as sitting it
  • Keep the error log going; by late December it becomes the only revision document that matters

January 2027: Taper, do not cram

  • Reduce to two mocks a week; increase sleep
  • Revise the error log and formula sheets only
  • Print the admit card early. Visit the exam centre route in advance if it is unfamiliar
  • The last three days: no new material at all

On the OMR sheet. The paper is pen-and-paper with an OMR answer sheet. A child who has only ever answered on a screen or in a notebook will lose marks to bubbling errors and mis-alignment. Practise on real OMR sheets from November onwards. It is the cheapest 5 marks available.

The Two Timelines Parents Get Wrong

Starting too late. A child who begins in November can cover the syllabus, but not build speed. AISSEE Class VI gives 150 minutes for 125 questions — about 72 seconds per question. Speed is a trained reflex, and training it takes months.

Peaking too early. A child who is exhausted by mid-December will underperform in January. This is why the plan above tapers deliberately. Preparation is a physical process as much as an academic one, which is one reason our residential programme builds fitness, sleep and meals into the same routine as classes.

If Your Child Is in Class IV or Class VII Now

You are in the strongest position of all, and the plan changes: build fundamentals for a year, then run the six-month plan above in the actual exam year. This is exactly what our Foundation Path is designed for — early, unhurried, and without the pressure of a deadline six weeks away. See the online programme for how it is structured.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the AISSEE 2027 exam date?

The AISSEE 2027 written examination is expected in January 2027, with the notification in September or October 2026 and the result in February 2027. The exact date is announced in the official NTA information bulletin, so confirm it at aissee.nta.nic.in.

How many months of preparation does AISSEE need?

Six focused months are enough to cover the syllabus, work through previous papers and complete a full mock-test cycle. Below three months, most students can finish the syllabus but cannot build the speed the paper demands.

When does the AISSEE 2027 application form open?

The application window is expected to open in October 2026 and close in November 2026, with a short correction window immediately afterwards. Submit in the first ten days rather than the final week.

How long is the AISSEE exam?

The Class VI paper runs 150 minutes for 125 questions worth 300 marks. The Class IX paper runs 180 minutes for 150 questions worth 400 marks. Neither paper has negative marking.

Is AISSEE conducted online or offline?

AISSEE is a pen-and-paper examination with multiple-choice questions answered on an OMR sheet. Practising on real OMR sheets before the exam is strongly recommended.

What happens between the result in February and joining the school?

Qualified candidates register for e-counselling, receive a provisional seat by merit and quota, then clear a medical examination and document verification at the allotted school before admission is confirmed.
